East Fullerton Little League Baseball

Three games under our belts and the team is starting to come together.  We are off to a 2-1 start and all of the games have been very competitive.  Strong pitching and defense have been the keys so far along with some timely hitting.  Each  game has shown improvement and with hard work they will continue to improve.  Great job Flyers!!

 3/20/10

Today we battled the WF Cubs and it came down to the final batter.  A. Rooney scored the winning run in the bottom of the 5th, he also got us started with a homer in the first.  B. Hanson threw 2 scoreless innings and M Nicolas threw a runner out at the plate from left field to keep the score tied.  Great game flyers.

 3/24/10

Today we played the EF Angels and had our best all around game.  Solid pitching, good defense, and an offensive outburst with 12 hits, led  by J. Wyper 3 hits, 2 doubles by B. Molina and homeruns by A. Rooney and T. Seesemann.  Great job flyers the hard work is paying off.

3/27/10

We had a tough loss today to the WF Rockies.  We battled back to take the lead, but just could not hold on.  Offensively we were led by D. Frazier with a double and triple and 4 others with more than 1 hit. 

3/31/10

We had a defensive battle against the WF Cardinals but came out on the short end, we just couldn't break through their tough pitching.  Great defense and pitching kept us in the game.  We were led by B. Hansen who was tough behind the plate making outs and threw out a runner at 2nd.  M. Nicolas had another great catch in left to keep the score close.  B. Hansen also scored our only run.  You guys played a great game today you all should be very proud or yourselves.

4/6/10

It was a close game and it came down to our last at bat when we came up with 5 runs to squeak out the win.  We only had 5 hits tonight but we able to get 10 runs with patience at the plate.  Solid defense at times kept us in the game.  Way to hang tough Flyers.

Great pitching and defense was the key to victory today. B. Molina 2inn with 4 K's R. Hawkins 2 shutout inn  with 3 K's and T. Seesemann 2 inn and 4 K's.  The game was close until we erupted with 8 runs in the top of the 6th.  Great game Flyers.

4/22/10

The Flyers picked up where they left off after the break, T. Seesemann pitched 3 strong innings w/ 5 K's and we were able to score 12 runs w/ 8 hits with our aggresiveness on the basepads. D. Martinez earned game ball honors today with all around hustle on the bases and in the field.  Great game Flyers.

4/28/10

The Angels battled us tough today jumping out to a 3-0 lead, but then our bats came alive with 13 hits with two 2 out rallys.  We scored six runs with 2 outs during the game.  We did not bring our "A" tonight but we played tough and hung on. Game Ball honors went to J. Reid, with 2 monster doubles and 3 rbi's.

We played the EF Twins today and battled to the final out.  Strong pitching on both sides was the story today, but we had enough offense to get the job down.  T. Seesemann got the game ball honors today with 3 strong innings on the mound and solid defense at shortstop.  Great game Flyers

We had a tough loss today to the WF Cardinals, we just could not break through their tough pitching.  We kept it close for most of the game thanks to the strong efforts of B. Molina who scored our only 2 runs pitching 1 1/3 innings with 4 K's.

What a great game for the Flyers today.  Pitching defense and hitting was working on all cylinders today. B Molina led the way throwing 3 innings with 5 K's.  D Martinez caught a liner at 3rd and turned a DP.  To go along with 15 hits today. Ebbin Libert earned game ball honors for his timely hitting today. All your hard work has paid off Flyers great job today.

Great job today Flyers we had a slow start but got out of a bases loaded jam in the 1st and did not look back.  We gave up 2 runs but then scored the next 10.  You did not give up on yourselves and played great. 12 hits in 4 innings led by D Frazier with 3 of his own. T Seesemann started slow on the mound but then found his mark with 6 K's  and only 1 hit allowed in 2 innings.

Sorry Flyers your coach was too conservative today thinking we could just cruise to another victory.  After the 1st inning we could not start any rallies until the last and it was too little too late.  The boys battled back led by B Hansen with a Homer and a Triple.

5/22/10

The Flyers bounced back today with all around great play.  The bats were alive with 12 hits today led by R Hawkins with 3 including a triple E Libert with a double and a triple.  Solid defense and pitching shut the EF Angels down, stopping 2 rallies.  T Seesemann had 4 K's in 2 innings of work.  Game Ball honors went to M Nicolas with 2 solid hits today  including a double down the line.

5/25/10

Great finish to the regular season Flyers.  It was a defensive battle with the EF Twins tonight and there was great pitching and defense on both sides. T. Seesemann led the way going 4 inn with 8 K's and B. Molina closed it off throwing  the last 2 with 2 K's.  We finally broke through in the 4 and 5th inning scoring 9 runs with a homer by B. Hansen getting us started.  Game Ball Honors went to R Hawkins for his 3 put outs in the field and a bases clearing triple down the line and T Seesemann for his pitching and hitting with a triple of his own.  This was definitely a team win.  Lets keep it rolling in the playoffs Flyers.\

6/2/10 Game 1 Playoffs

Wow, what a game, you guys are playing great and it is some much fun to watch.  I am proud of each and everyone of you for the way you are playing as a team, no matter what happens the rest of the tournament you guys are winners in my book and I am proud to be your coach.  so many great plays today hitting, defense and pitching. T. Seesemann led the way on the mound going 4 2/3rds innings.  B. Molina came in and closed it out.  Game Ball honors went to A Rooney with the waking up of his bat today hitting a triple and Grand Slam, also making a great catch in Right and doubling off a runner.

6/5/10 Game 2 Playoffs

We started off strong today getting out to a 4-1 lead, but I think we just ran out of gas and could not hold on.  Be proud Flyers you played hard and did not give up on yourselves.

6/8/10 Game 3 Playoffs

I don't know how many times I can say this but I think today was our best all around game, great pitching and defense and we finally put the bat on the ball against the very tough WF Cardinals.  B Molina pitched a great game and had great defense behind him. R Hawkins got it started with a shot to left field and scoring our 1st run sliding under the tag at home.  M Nicolas laid down a perfect sac bunt to score another run for us.  Game Ball honors went to J Wyper for 2 great catches in Right field and E Libert for gobbling up everything that came his way at 1st.

Game 4 Playoffs.

Well Flyers it was a great ride while it lasted I think we just ran out of gas tonight.  All players and their supporters should be very proud of the season we had it was a honor to be your coach and watch you develop as baseball players.  From the first day of practice until today you guys played hard and gave it your all and your sportsmanship was great all season long. Thank you  coaches,scorekeeper and the unofficial coaches who helped out during the season, we could not have been as sucessful with out your help, and a big thank you to Wendy who kept us all up to date on all the goings on.  The AA Flyers are the East Fullerton Champions and no one can take that from you.  You guys are champions on and off the field.                    Coach Rick
